[Drosophila] Which first and third chromosome balancers have good viability together in stocks?

FM and TM balancers do not do well when combined in stocks. Are there combinations of older or simpler balancers that can be maintained for working with X and third chromosome mutations?

I have not come across any general solution to this. Do people make double balancer strains transiently and then not try to keep them? There is one such line at Bloomington but it is very troublesome.
