>The Center for Environmental  Sciences and Education  (CESE) seeks
applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position.  The CESE is
an interdepartmental, interdisciplinary academic unit at Northern Arizona
University, offering a Bachelors of  Science degree in Environmental Sciences.

>All applicants must have an earned Ph.D. and academic and research training
in ecology, as well as a solid background in statistics and computer
modeling.  We seek applicants with subspecialties in either atmospheric
sciences, micrometeorology, biogeochemistry or restoration ecology.
Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate environmental science
and ecology courses, as well as upper division and graduate courses in the
applicant's subspecialty.  Opportunities in  interactive instructional
television may arise.   The incumbent will be expected to seek extramural
funding for research, and contribute to education of graduate students. We
are looking for a teacher-scholar who can maintain a strong research program
while making significant contributions as a teacher in our undergraduate
environmental sciences courses.  Experience working with a culturally
diverse population is preferred.

experience,  and a broad-based education in both the life and physical
sciences, as well as a solid background in statistics, computer modeling and
scientific writing.  Opportunities for teaching training courses in
remediation techniques or regulations, soils remediation, remote sensing, or
related fields may arise.  The incumbent will assume a major role in
teaching lecture and laboratories in basic environmental science courses, as
well as manage our Advisement Center and Internship Program.  Experience
working with a culturally diverse population is preferred.
