Studying Stress in Ecological Systems: Pure and Applied Perspectives.

21-24 June 1997
Roskilde University Denmark

The main emphasis of this conference will be on ways of studying stress,
ways of using stress as aprobe to study ecological processes, and ways of
using insights from pure ecology as management tools in applied ecology.

Conference Venue - The conference will be held at Roskilde University,
Denmark. In the Middle Ages, Roskilde was the country's capital as well as
a major Scandinavian religious center. Thetown, which is located about 30

presentations, include contributed papers, and closewith an open discussion
period. In addition there will be an evening poster session/social, and
around table discussion of key issues led by session chairs. The session
topics are as follows:

 * Adaptational Aspects: A Complication in Stress Studies?
 * Studying Stress in Organisms: Does the Individual Matter?
 * Studying Stress in Populations: What Can We Learn From Life-History
Analyses? * Studying Stress in Ecosystems: Complexity as an Impediment
or an Advantage? * Integrating Pure and Applied Perspectives in Stress

Key Dates:
