A full-time technician is need to participate in field and laboratory
ecological/physiological research dealing with vegetation, soils, plant
water relations and nutrient dynamics.  This person would also serve as
a lab manager in our research group.  An ability to drive to remote
field sites and conduct work in the field is required.  To accommodate
field work, the individual would also need to be flexible in his/her
hours.  Minimum qualifications are a university education (e.g., B.S.
degree) in some field of the natural sciences or engineering and a
familiarization with basic chemical laboratory techniques.  Desirable
experience and skills include:  chemical analysis of plant and soil
materials, stable isotope sample preparation, soil thermocouple
psychrometer calibration and use, Campbell Scientific Inc. data logger
configuration, prior lab management, and use of computer data bases and
spreadsheet programs.

This is university contract position that includes a full fringe benefit
package (currently worth an additional 37% of the annual salary,
excluding the value of paid days off).  The minimum salary is $ 20,979
