HortResearch is the leading provider of research and technology
development in horticultural and food science in New Zealand. The
Institute has developed a strong international reputation for its
research, and in partnership with the New Zealand horticultural
industries, is making a significant contribution to maintaining New
Zealand’s position as a leading producer of high quality horticultural
products.

Our Environment and Risk Management group is seeking a plant
physiologist to join a multi-disciplinary team studying the impact of
plant architecture on kiwifruit growth and development. Candidates
should have a strong interest in the physiology of plant architecture
and an appreciation of biochemical or molecular approaches to
physiological problems. An understanding of the role climate plays in
plant growth would be an advantage. A commitment to the development of
collaborative research with staff based at other centres will be
expected.

- strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to team work

This permanent position is based at HortResearch’s Te Puke Research
Centre, which is at the heart of New Zealand’s prime kiwifruit producing
region. The region includes the nearby city of Tauranga where rapid
growth is supported by an expanding economic base and an outstanding
lifestyle based on a superb climate and marine 
setting.
