Release 58 of the EMBL Nucleotide Sequence Database is available from
the EBI ftp server:
ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/databases/embl/release
ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/databases/embl/release/gcg (GCG-format)
ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/databases/embl/release/srs (SRS indices)
Release 58 contains 3,272,064 sequences comprising 2,355,200,790
nucleotides, an increase of about 8% over release 57.
Please note that the GSS division (Genome Survey Sequences) is now
represented by 6 files GSS1-GSS6, there are 22 EST files (EST1-EST22),
and the PRO division (Prokaryotes) is represented by 2 files (PRO1-PRO2).
At this release the new nucleotide and protein sequence identifiers
