Dansyl-peptide solubility problem

I've made a cyclic octapeptide with a dansyl group attached to the
N-terminus. Unfortunately in the bacteria-receptor binding study the
tagged peptide was not soluble in phosphate buffer (0.1M, pH7.4).

Is there an alternative water soluble tag out there?? I've tried the
useful site www.probes.com and I'm waiting for a reply from their tech.
