E.coli or enteric with a marked main chromosome

I wish to distinguish E.coli applied to vegetable plants from indigenous
and extraneous E.coli.
I have a Clontech ampicillin and GFP plasmid, but it is lost when the
cells go into stationary phase. Do you know where I could get an E.coli (or
some enteric bacterium) with a marker engineered into the main chromosome
that isn't lost in stationary phase? The marker could even be just a
sequence, which could be detectable by hybridisation. I look forward to a
reply, even in the negative. Thanks.
