Welcome to the GENETIC-LINKAGE board. I hope that that people will
use this board for the discussion and solving of problems in any area
of Human Genetic Linkage. I particularly hope to encourage a forum
of information exchange on software and the application thereof. Postings
from end-users as well as developers are welcome. I have agreed to act as
overseer for the board, which at present is unmoderated. To set the ball
rolling, here is an announcement for a course in Computing and Genetic Linkage
that several of use are organising in August. As well as the communication

	COMPUTING COURSE ON HUMAN GENETIC LINKAGE AND RELATED TOPICS

	This course will take place on Sept 2-6,1991 at the Porto Conte
	Research and Training Laboratories (PCRTL), Alghero, Italy. The
	course tutors are Steve Bryant, John Attwood, Sue Povey, John Yates,
	David Judge and Martin Bishop. Attendants are expected to have a
	general background in linkage analysis and familiarity with standard
	types of personal computers. Cost for attending the course (tuition
	and living expenses on the campus) will amount to 1000 ECU. It is
	possible that a number of fellowships will be available to defray
	expenses for travel, tuition and lodging.
