GDB TO CHANGE DOMAIN TO GDB.ORG IN SEPTEMBER:
On September 7, 1993, the Genome Data Base (GDB) host addresses will
change as outlined below. If you have any questions, please email
gdb technical support at: help at library.welch.jhu.edu or call 410-955-7058.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Old User Address: help at library.welch.jhu.edu
New User Address: help at gdb.org
GDB STAFF
Old User Address: username at library.welch.jhu.edu
New User Address: username at gdb.org
WELCHLAB SERVER, using telnet, rlogin, or rsh
Old Hostname: welchlab.welch.jhu.edu
New Hostname: gdb.org
FTP
Old Hostname: mendel.welch.jhu.edu
New Hostname: ftp.gdb.org
You still need to type the ftp command in front of the ftp address:
Old Command: ftp mendel.welch.jhu.edu
New Command: ftp ftp.gdb.org
GOPHER
Old Hostname: merlot.welch.jhu.edu
New Hostname: gopher.gdb.org
WAIS
Old Hostname: welchlab.welch.jhu.edu
New Hostname: wais.gdb.org
OMIM
(OMIM may still be accessed through GDB; this address is another
option.)
