In a discussion of CpG methylation and heterochromatin I was asked by a
student how heterochromatic status is heritable in the organisms like
Drosophila which apparently do not methylate CpGs. I was stumped. Can
anyone help me answer the question of steer me in the right direction? I
have also been wondering what the mechanism for delay of heterochromatin
replication is. Surely this must have been thoroughly investigated by now.
