You are cordially invited to submit abstracts for the first Cold Spring
Harbor winter biotechnology conference on Arabidopsis thaliana genomics
which is to be held at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory from the evening of
Thursday December 11th till after lunch on Sunday December 14th, 1997.
The goal of this meeting is to review technologies and progress in
Arabidopsis genome sequencing, mutagenesis and bioinformatics in order
to establish a framework programme aimed at large scale systematic
search for the function of Arabidopsis genes. The following issues will
be examined:
Genome sequencing
EST and cDNA sequencing
State of the art positional cloning
Large-scale gene disruption using transposons
T-DNA mutagenesis strategies
Novel techniques for gene disruption studies
Methods for studying gene expression patterns
Bioinformatics tools & databases
Annotation of genes
Comparative plant genomics
Applications to crop plants
Six oral sessions, one poster session and a gene annotation workshop are
planned. Apart from invited speakers, we expect about 4-5 speakers per
session will be selected on the basis of the submitted abstracts. We
strongly encourage submission of the latest results by both young and
established researchers in the field.
Abstract Deadline: October 31st, 1997
Please note that attendance is limited to a maximum of 175 participants.
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory encourages you to register and submit
abstracts by email or online via the World Wide Web at
