Lectureship in Pharmacology
Applications are invited for a non-clinical Lectureship in Pharmacology,
tenable from 1st January 1995. The position, which will be made on a
fixed-term basis for a period of three years, arises from the appointment of
a member of staff, Dr. Kieran Breen, to a Research Leave Fellowship.
The candidate will join a Department with a strong interest in Neuroscience
and will be expected to undertake an vigorous independent programme of
research. This appointment will coincide with the establishment of a new
Neurosciences initiative within the Department. The successful candidate
will be encouraged to interact with a dynamic research group headed by Dr.
Breen which has a particular interest in the area of neuroglycobiology and
molecular neurobiology.
The appointee will also be expected to undertake some general teaching
duties for students of science and pre-clinical medical students. Salary
will be commensurate with experience and is likely to be on the lecturer A
scale.
Ninewells Hospital Medical School is situated on the Tay estuary and is
surrounded by beautiful countryside which provides excellent opportunities
for a variety of outdoor activities. The cost of living is one of the
lowest, and the standard of living one of the highest in the U.K.
