Cross-linking glucose to proteins?

You can try using sodium cyanoborohydride in an aqueous solution of the
sugar. A Schiff base is formed though and so you really dont get a glucose
attached. You may also want to consider putting a linker arm between the
glucose and the base molecule. One type may be a HOOC-alkyl-COOH arm in
which one side forms an ester with an OH on the glucose and the other COOH
forms a bond on the host molecule. To see additional examples check out
