Dear Dr. Stewart:
The book by Liener, Sharon and Goldstein, though was "way out of date", is stilla very comprehensive book detailing many aspects of properties of plant lectins. As far as I know, there is no such book published since then, except a much
simplified version by Sharon and Lis published in 1989. The same two authors
published quite a number of review articles on the subject, e.g., FASEB J. 4: 3198-3208, 1990. Also, there is a book series, "Lectins: Biology, Biochemistry,
Clinical Biochemistry" published (previously) by Sigma Chemical Co., St. Louis.
This series record proceedings of lectin meeting (Vol 7 for a meeting in Prague
in July, 1988). Depends on what you are looking for, there should be plenty of
papers on the topic.
Good luck.
