Succinyl wheat germ

Dear Irina, wheat germ agglutinin as probably all the other
"GlcNAc-specific" lectins does not bind very well to structures
terminating in GlcNAcß1-2Man. WGA rather binds to chito-oligosaccharides
which are however not usually contained in glycoproteins. We have also
tried Bandeiraea simplicifolia II with ovalbumin and other
GlcNAc-Man-containing glycoproteins - with very little success !
So your problem might be one of lectin binding for which Pierce is not
responsible.
Kind regards, Fritz Altmann
