Moderation

Iain,

Although I was originally against moderation, I have now come to the
conclusion that it is probably necessary in order to maintain the
integrity of the newsgroup. Personally, I can deal with "rubbish" mail,
and it doesn't particularly bother me. However, I have noticed over the
past few months an increase in people unsubscribing from this and other
newsgroups. This decrease in member number means a smaller catchment
group for discussion and also who are also available to assist in any
problems that are raised. If people were assured that all of the mail on
the group was relevant, due to moderation, then I feel that this could
only help to increase membership number and interest.

I realise that moderation takes time, but I am sure that this task
could be shared between a number of people (i wouldn't mind doing my bit
for the greater glory etc.), for example one month out of 4.
