Hercules Incorporated, a world leader in water-soluble polymers, paper
chemicals, water treatment, resins, food gums, and non-woven fibers,

* Derivatization of the reducing end by Schiff base formation
        with amines.
* Activation of the carboxylic groups in acidic saccharides

* Preparation of functionalized spironaphthoxazines by condensing
Fischer's base with a selected naphthol. The functionalized
