prions

I heard from a science writer at the New York Times that prions had
gotten into the donor blood supply. It seems to me that prions are
particularly dangerous because they mimick protein structures already
in the brain, and can therefore easily result in Creutzfeld-Jakob
Disease once transfused into the blood. If anyone knows anything about
this subject, I am sure readers of this newsgroup would be interested
in hearing from you.
