People might quibble, but the essence of PNI is the relationship
between psychological factors (e.g. learning, stress), CNS
processes (e.g. neuroendocrine, neuroanatomical), and immunology.

For starters, see the book by R. Ader, D. Felten, and N. Cohen,
*Psychoneuroimmunology*, 2nd edition, 1991, Academic. 

Also, check out the journal Brain, Behavior, and Immunity.
