New Immune Theory/Shock

Dear Colleagues:
     On the topic of damaged cells giving a signal to boost cellular immunity, 
about 10 years ago I received a paper from India to review. The researcher 
infected rabbits with rabies, then "hooked them up" to a car battery 
and found they did not succumb to the disease. The paper was so brutal I was 
repulsed by the "Materials and Methods" and refused to review it. Still, is 
this in line with the topic being discussed?...John
