Hemopoeitic cytokines

In reply to my question about definitions of cytokine units the 
following reply (this thread) just about sums up the NON STANDARD 
definition of most of these::::

summaries of many cytokines, often including conversion 
information.

Really - reviewers of papers presented for publication should not 
allow the use of such non-standard definitions in submitted 
papers.  They are not adequate descriptions.
