FACULTY POSITION IN IMMUNOLOGY


The Department of Biology, University of California, San Diego invites
 applications for a faculty position in the general area of Immunology.
 The level of the appointment is unspecified; we encourage applications
 at the level of a tenure-track Assistant Professor through a senior,
 tenured Professor. The position is available as early as fall 1995. 
Salary will be commensurate with level of appointment and based on the 
UC published salary scale. Possible areas of interest include: the cell 
biology of signaling induced by cytokines and adhesion molecules, 
regulation of gene expression, leukocyte development and function, protein trafficking related to receptor assembly or antigen presentation, and cellular interactions in immunity. Outstanding candidates in all areas related to immunology will be considered. The successful candidate is expected to have an innovative research program that utilizes contemporary techniques in biochemistry, genetics, and 
cell biology. Resources will be provided for the appointee to set up a 
competitive laboratory equipped to carry out the research of his or 
her choosing. A Ph.D., demonstration of scholarly work, and an 
established research program appropriate for the appointment level are
