Does anyone have any suggestions on how to block antigen-induced apoptosis
observed in human CTL lines (and clones) in culture?
A major problem that immunologists face when trying to grow long-term CTL
lines is that after 3-4 cycles of antigen-restimulation (using peptides and
APC) the CTL die. Many think that this death is the result of Fas/Fas ligand
reactions that the antigen stimulation induces in the cell cultures. Are
there any drugs that would inhibit Fas ligand mediated apoptosis whithout
inhibiting cell growth of the CTL??
