PCR-Inhibitory Factors in RBC.

Our lab is trying to detect oncogene message expression using PCR in 
human bone marrow progenitor cells and peripheral blood 
mononucleocytes.  We recently observed that the presence of human 
red blood cells may interfere with the detection/expression of mRNA 
in nucleated cells. We are wondering if there is anyone has 
encountered similar situations? It would be greatly appreciated if 
anybody could suggest which components from red blood cell may 
contribute this phenomena. Many thanks.
