I am interesting in synthesizing some peptides that are homologous to
the calcium binding gla domains of vitamin K dependent proteins. Does
anybody know of anyone who has been able to insert gla residues into
synthetic peptides? Gla is the following amino acid and is formed from
glutamic acid in a post-translational event requiring vitamin K, oxygen
and carbon dioxide....gamma-carboxyglutamic acid or 1-carboxyglutamic
acid. Thanks.
