Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

Does anyone have information on possible treatments for chronic
lymphocytic leukemia?  The only treatments I have heard are chemotherapy,
spleen removal, and blood transfusions.  Are there gene therapy
possibilities for stem cells in the bone marrow?  I'm looking for any hope
in avoiding my father from entering Hospital Life and chemotherapy, which
in my opinion, is midevil.  Thanks.
