Ana Maria,
I am not sure whether Jenner's intention for showing the efficicacy of his new
vaccine, by inoculating a deadly virus onto an eight year old child, was
entirely noble. He may have been so arrogant, or had very little regard for the
lives of the poor, as to perform such "scientific" experiments. He became a
hero because history prooved him correct; he would have been made a villain if
he was wrong.
