Locum Assistant Editor - Immunology Today

Elsevier Trends Journals is the Cambridge-based division of the international
Elsevier Science group. To cover for a nine month period of maternity leave,
we are seeking to appoint a Locum Assistant Editor on the top-ranked monthly
review journal 'Immunology Today'.

This is an excellent opportunity to enter the world of scientific publishing.
The Assistant Editor manages all aspects of the overall production process,
from editing manuscripts to overseeing the construction of each monthly issue.
This involves collaboration with authors, the in-house Editor and production
staff to produce clear, accurate material in an interesting magazine format.
The position would suit a graduate or Ph.D in any aspect of the biomedical
sciences, with a specific interest in immunology. We need someone who can
express written and illustrated scientific concepts clearly and concisely, has
a good eye for detail, and is able to organize their work to meet the demands
of strict monthly deadlines. Previous experience of scientific editing and an
interest in electronic media would be an advantage, although full training
will be provided.

Please send a CV (with names of two references) and a hand-written letter of
application, by mail or fax to: Dr Robert Brines, Immunology Today, Elsevier
Trends Journals, 68 Hills Road, Cambridge, UK  CB2 1LA. Phone: 01223 315961;
Fax: 01223 464430; e-mail: r.brines at elsevier.co.uk

Closing date for receipt of applications 1st February, 1996.
