Dear Sir:
I am writing for the possibility of doing postdoctoral research work
in one laboratory.
As outlined in my CV, my research work is mainly focus on T cell
and Chemokines, and the associated technology. I hope to get a
postdoctoral position in the related research areas. I am sure
that my experience, techniques and hard working will be very
helpful for your research work.
Currently, I am in the process of doing my Ph.D., and I am scheduled
to finish my Ph.D. program in May of 1997 here at Beijing Medical
University. I hope to do further research in the related areas,
starting from July, 1997.
Enclosed please find my C.V. for your consideration. Please feel free
to contact me if you require any further information.
I would appreciate it greatly if you can take me into
your consideration.
Sincerely yours,
Zhu-Gong Liu

1987-1992 undergraduate student (Bachelor), Department of
Basic Medicine, Beijing Medical
University, Beijing, China.
1992-present graduate student (Ph.D.), Department of
immunology, Beijing Medical University
RESEARCH EXPERIENCES:
1991-1992 establishment of mouse thymic stromal cell (MTSC)
lines; Cell cloning of MTSC lines; involved in
establishment of human tumor model in nude mouse.
evaluation of antitumor activity of IL-4 against
human tumors.
1992-1993 involved in a research project supported by
CMB (Chinese Medical Board, USA):
Characterization of established MTSC lines and
clones, including the detection of keratin, vimentin,
S-100, Mac-1, Ia, Thy-1 and several markers for
dendritic cells; involved in detection of the
cytokines (IL-1, IL-2, IL-3, IL-6, IFN) secreted by
MTSC cells; Preparation of monoclonal antibodies
against thymic stromal cells; The types and subtypes
of MTSC cells identified by these McAbs.
1993-1994 as a main cooperator in China, involved in a project
supported by European Committee ( in cooperation
with Dr. Van Damme). Detection of chemotactic factors
secreted by MTSC lines; Establishment of a method
that can be used to analysis the phenotype and number
of migrated lymphocytes; Purification of chemokines
from MTSC culture supernatant. After RP-HPLC, a
single protein bond of 30 KDa was seen in
silver-stained SDS-PAGE.
1994-1995 amino acid sequence analysis of the 30 KDa chemokine;
Analysis of chemotactic activity of this chemokine on
bone marrow cells and the phenotype of migrated
BM cells; Detection of chemotactic activity of
this chemokines on different subsets of thymocyte.
1995-Present Analysis of TCR gene rearrangement, phenotypic
and functional maturation of thymocyte induced
by this chemokine, including adhesion molecule
expression on thymocyte; Cloning of chemokine
gene from MTSC using RACE-PCR; Another
chemokine of 7KDa was found; Purification of
this chemokine to homogeneity.
