NASA, in concert with the biomedical community, has initiated work using
a rotating bioreactor that offers significant advances in cell culturing
technology on Earth, and thereby enabling remarkable research progress
aboard Space Shuttle, Mir, and - soon - International Space Station.
BTW, this includes cartilage growth in space studies reported recently
by Dr. Lisa Freed of MIT. Some aspects also address the immune system.
