I can highly recommend "A Handful of Luck" written by G.B. West. Geoff West was
a pioneer of modern immunopharmacology who, together with J.F. Riley, in 1952,
discovered the localisation of histamine in tissue mast cells. Geoff West
practised the philosophy of helping young scientists at the start of their
career.
Do not miss this book.
