I never used AP conjugates, but I've worked for years with HRP
conjugates.  To my opinion, and following litterature, AP conjugateS are
more stable than HRP ones.  But if you work in a research lab, it doesn't
matter provided you keep HRP conjugates in glycerol at -20 °C.  There are
also specific stabilizers for these conjugates.
