Hi folks!
I have recently been immunizing rats with parasite antigens and
evaluating the isotype distribution of the Ag-specific antibodies
produced. I got to thinking that it might be good to know the normal
level of each isotype (e.g. IgM, IgG1, IgG2a, etc.) in rat serum, but I
have been unable to locate this information. I have tried various
immunology textbooks (where info is readily available for mouse and human
antibodies), Medline searches, asking a D.V.M., etc. About the best I
could find was info on the total concentration of gamma globulin in rat
serum - not quite specific enough.
Could anybody out there point me to a reference?
