There are many "new" connections seen between the
neuro-endo-immunological systems seen in the last 5 years or so. IL-1 has
been shown as you said as a result of various stress situations. There are
also studies showing cells of the immune system responding to
acetylcholine. Look at research by C.Janeway's group and several groups
in Italy. Immunology Today had a reveiw a couple of years ago on the
associated subject. Sorry I could not be more specific, I have not
followed the research in a few years.
