I'm a CLS directly involved in blood donor testing. Our current
instrumentation consists of Abbott Flexible Pipetting Station, Automated
Bar Code module, and 2 Parallel Processing Centers. Previously all testing
was performed by RIA.
This instrumentation is plagued by drawbacks. Any information regarding
alternate instrumentation approved by the FDA for blood donor testing would
be greatly appreciated. Let me know how your lab is handling donor
testing.
