Capillaries and inflammation

Hi,
I am a PhD student in final year working in area of sex hormones and
asthma. Something turned out in my experimentally induced amimal model of 
asthma, which was unexpected and beyond of my knowledge. I am urgently
looking for information on (i) the role that  lung capillaries may play in
lung inflammation and (ii) the possible facters or causes that influence
the number of capillaries in lungs.
