If a patient has an allergy to penicillin, but she is given timentin IV
for three days due to a suspected UTI and develops a diffuse, puritic rash
and liver problems, could the allergic response progress to liver failure
and death sixty days later? If anyone can consult with me or direct me to
literature cites re "allergic hepatitis" or "drug-induced liver failure,"
