The findings and speculations by AJ Wakefield et al do not exist in a
vacuum, ie, there is a growing body of research indicating that (i) immune
dysregulation is very common among kids within the autism spectrum, and
(ii) that measles virus (wild-type or vaccine-type) impairs immunity,
often by an effect upon dendritic cells. 

I will post two long items with MMR as first symbol in subject heading,
the bulk of each post will be citations in support of item-ii above.
Searching medline for "autism" and "CD4 or CD8" will generate citations
about immune links to autism.
