I realize that you are right, but rattle snake venom is consistent of digestive enzymes.  Every cell no matter what the source uses digestive enzymes of one sort or another.  So, if you were looking for a cure to a virus, or a toxin produced by bacteria, that there is typically something that those cells use that the human cells don't.  If you are not feeding a virus because it's specific digestive enzymes are the target of an anti-toxin, then it starves, then dies.  But, in order for that to work, you would need to chemically separate the enzymes from the virus, or bacteria that is producing the toxin within the cell itself, or being used to digest the cell that it occupies..
