The standard explanation (right or wrong ?):
any viral infection is a polyclonal trigger for the immune system (some
more, some less);
whenever there is any autoantibody production (e.g. below the threshold of
overt clinical symptoms), this autoantibody production is enhanced in
parallel with the polyclonal lymphocyte activation, and, thus, the ITP
reappears
