EBV serologies & PCR

3 years ago, I suddenly got dizzy, had a strange headache and felt like
I would die of exhaustion. I got different tests. Those were normal
(except for a deficiencey in phosphorus that eventually went back to
normal). But I had an EBV VCA positive result (the IgG or IgM -the one
that stays for life), with no EBNA. I have had the same results,
repeated about every 3 months, in different labs, since then. Famvir (in
pill form, not IV) was tried for a couple of weeks and some EBNA
appeared (not sufficient to be considered positive) and then disappeared.

I also had a blood PCR which gave ¨ten times the normal viral load¨ but
a second one, months later, gave a negative result. Still no EBNA though.

I understand having a spinal tap PCR could show active EBV in the spinal
fluid. Is it worth it?

Th EA levels were checked a couple of times and were not very high.

Any idea, suggestion?

Thanks
