2 Postdoctoral Cellular Immunologists
(Department of Medicine, Uni of W Australia, Sir Charles Gairdner
Hospital, Perth, Western Australia).

Expressions of interest are invited for 2 postdoctoral Immunologists
work in a group utilising T-cell receptor transgenic mice to analyse
host anti-tumour immunity. The group is largely focused on analysis of
specific anti-tumour responses, transfecting nominal antigens into
tumour cells and utilising the TCR transgenic cells to following
tumour-specific responses. As part of this work we are studying the
role of tumour-associated antigen presenting cells, local antigen
presentation (using CSFE technology), the fate of specific T-cells (eg,
using various knockout mice), epitope recognition (using tetramers plus
in vivo and in vitro CTL assays). The group also undertakes
preclinical analysis of novel genetic therapies, from which novel
clinical trials, eg, using gene therapy, are being generated.
Currently the tumour immunology group consists of approximately 20
staff, with 7 Postdoctoral Scientists, 4 Laboratory Scientists, 5 PhD
students, several clinical staff and 2 honours students.

The group is located in a major teaching hospital with several hundred
scientists, four on-site Institutes and ranks near the top of NH&MRC
research grant success.
