Try 'staining' your monocytes in FACS buffer with an overdose of unlabeled
irrelevant antibodies first, then add the (labeled) relevant staining (do
not wash in between), then wash as usual. The irrelevant antibodies of the
same isotype as your staining mAbs will block all avialable binding sites
prior to and during staining, so background is greatly reduced.
