Antibody transfer

Active viral infections can be transferred via mucous secretions from the 
nose.  Can
antibodies from a person who has fully recovered from the flu be transferred 
to another
person via mucous secretions from the former being placed in the nose of the 
latter?
It sounds somewhat "unclean" but this might be safer and easier than a 
transfer via
blood transfusion.
