Hi,
It all depends on what aspects you are going to pursue in your work. For
example, in graduate school I worked on structural/biochemical aspects of
certain immune system molecules. However, in order to pursue research of
physiological relevance, I now work with transgenic mouse model systems.
Animal models are extremely important for translating basic research into
clinically applicable forms.
