I have done all my "research" without a single (personal) experiment.
My conclusion is that "the immune system is dead: long live the immune
system" (to paraphrase a famous English sentence). The old view of the
immune system is, I contend, fundamentally flawed if you think of it as
a bug seeking system. If you think of it as a morphostatic (tissue
homeostatic system) most of the anomalies disappear.

Nevertheless, even this is built on other peoples work and thus,
countless dead animals used to establish the facts (the building
bricks) of this science.
