	Hi Anna,
		You must know what is the host range of the retroviruses that you are
making. If your cells are human you need an amphotropic or pantropic
packaging cell line. If are murine you can use  an ecotropic ( it is
more safe, you can infect your self with the pantropic and the
anphotropic viruses).
	Other important thing is the proliferation of the target cells.
Retroviruses only infect proliferating cells.
