Physiology of "Extra" Adrenals

I have an acquaintance who cliams to have extra adrenal glands. Is this 
medically/biologically possible? and if so, what sort of physiological 
implications would there be? He appears physically normal.
Just a curious query.

(I belive he is full of uh, vinegar to keep it polite.)
