Dera Dr. Bryan Heit,
I am a research fellow working at a tertiary care hospital and research centre in Mumbai, India.
this is with reference to a topic on neutrophil isolation posted by you on the net. my work involves neutrophil isolation and i too, have been following a similar protocol as that described by you. however, i have 2 queries--
1) what is the exact mechanism of dextran in sedimanting RBCs?
why is hypotonic lysis of RBcs or ammonium chloride lysis the most widely used RBC lysis method? why arent other RBC lysis buffers used?
It would be kind of you, if you could enlihten me in this regard or send me relevant references.
Thankin you in anticipation,
Aparna Rao,
